Ikechukwu Victor Okoronkwo is the Group Managing Director, Aiteo Eastern Exploration & Production Company Ltd. He graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in Surveying and has an MBA from the USA. He joined the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) early in his career in 1987, as a Review Surveyor.
He has served in various capacities in Shell both in Nigeria and abroad ranging from Head Geomatics Operations; Economist/ Business Planner at Shell International, Aberdeen, UK; Head of Gas Planning & Economics, Shell Petroleum Development Co Ltd Nigeria; Asset Manager, Afam Power Plant; Business Development Manager, Shell Nigeria Gas and General Manager, Upstream Gas for Shell Upstream, Sub-Sahara Africa. Victor resigned from the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in 2015 after over two and a half decades of service.
He joined Aiteo Eastern E&P Company Ltd in 2015 as Senior Vice-President, Gas and Commercial and worked assiduously in ensuring a seamless transition of the $2.5 billion OML 29 Asset acquisition from Shell, the single biggest deal in Nigeria at the time. Aiteo Eastern E&P Company Ltd has since grown into recognition as one of the biggest indigenous oil producing companies in Nigeria.
In June 2019, Mazi Victor was appointed the Group Managing Director of Aiteo Eastern E&P Company Ltd, in recognition of his transformational leadership style and has been saddled with the mandate to deliver sustained business value growth imperatives.
Mazi Victor is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Gas Association. He has also received several awards in recognition of his philanthropy and community service. Victor is also a Knight of St. Christopher of the Anglican Communion.
